BeBook Neo Review

BeBook Neo Review

There are ebook readers being released all the time at different prices. These eReaders are not going to replace hard copy books, especially with problems caused by DRM, but they are popular devices. The newest generation ebook readers, like the BeBook Neo, are based on electronic paper, or epaper, on which the text and pictures are displayed by electronic ink (e-Ink).

Most people only know about the Amazon Kindle, but there is a wide variety of ebook readers available, some with features that may make them attractive than the Kindle. When you are looking at the big three ebook readers, it will be important to include the BeBook Neo eReader in your comparison. The BeBook Neo is a new generation of eReader manufactured by the Dutch company Endless Ideas.

The BeBook Neo is very similar to the Kindle WiFi model and the Nook WiFi model. They are all nearly identical in terms of size and weight -- about the same as a standard paperback book. The Neo has the same WiFi capability as the other two, and they all have 6 inch e-Ink screens. The readability of this device is excellent. The e-Ink display is easily readable in both sunlight and normal light. It uses a 6 inch e-ink display with 600 x 800 pixel resolution. It can also display images in 16 levels of grayscale. The battery life is also very good and offers about 7000 page turns per recharge. The device is recharged using USB and can reach full charge level in as low as 3 hours. The screen is crisp and the page change and refresh speed is 2 to 5 times faster than many other readers in the market, thanks to the powerful freescale processor used in this device.

Unlike many of the other renowned eBook reader manufactures, Endless Ideas has successfully integrated user friendly features like touch screen and open market into the BeBook Neo. The major benefit of this is the ability for people to easily navigate the vast expanse of the ebook world outside of single store conformity that some eReaders make you use.

The only real drawback that we found regarding the Neo eReader is that the touch-screen cannot be swiped. But for most people, the ability to use the directional pad and read using one hand makes this a non-issue.

The BeBook Neo has a fine line of available accessories. Users can purchase attachable reading lights, skins to personalize the unit, wall chargers, and carrying cases.

Overall, this device is one of the best performers when compared with any other ebook reader on the market today, and we recommend it.
